Oracle INITCAP function

Preamble

The Oracle/PLSQL INITCAP function sets the first character of each word in upper case, and the rest in lower case.

Syntax of the Oracle/PLSQL INITCAP function

INITCAP( string1_id )

Parameters and function arguments

• string1_id – is an argument string, the first character in each word will be uppercase, and all other characters will be uppercase.

The INITCAP function returns a string value.
