The current_date function in PostgreSQL returns the current date.
Syntax of current_date function in PostgreSQL
current_date
Parameters and function arguments
- There are no parameters or arguments for the PostgreSQL function.
The current_date function returns the current date in ‘YYYY-MM-DD’ format. Do not put brackets () after current_date function.
The current_date function can be used in future versions of PostgreSQL
PostgreSQL 11, PostgreSQL 10, PostgreSQL 9.6, PostgreSQL 9.5, PostgreSQL 9.4, PostgreSQL 9.3, PostgreSQL 9.2, PostgreSQL 9.1, PostgreSQL 9.0, PostgreSQL 8.4.

SELECT current_date;
--Result: 2019-04-23
