The Oracle/PLSQL SQRT function extracts the square root from the number.
Syntax of the Oracle/PLSQL SQRT function
SQRT( number_id )
Parameters and function arguments
- number_id – is a positive number
The SQRT function returns a numeric value.
The SQRT function can be used in the following versions of Oracle/PLSQL
Oracle 12c, Oracle 11g, Oracle 10g, Oracle 9i, Oracle 8i

SELECT SQRT(9) FROM DUAL;
--Result: 3
SELECT SQRT(37) FROM DUAL;
